Executive Summary

Information that assists instructors in preparing workshop content. Advice for mentors as they introduce lubrication principles to new fisters.

Mentoring and Presentations

Understanding how and why lubrication is a critical component of successful fisting is one of the most important concepts a new fister can learn. Teaching can be done individually (as a mentor) or in a large presentation at special fisting or kink-related events.

Mentoring (One-on-One)

Mentoring involves teaching new players about lube in a one-on-one or threesome environment. To prevent information overload, it is wise to introduce new information over several sessions. The following guidelines are based on three sessions; however, this can be subdivided into more sessions if desired.

First Session

If you are acting as a mentor to a new fister, cover the following during your first session:

  1. Lubrication Rationale | Briefly compare fisting lube with traditional lube, specifically:
    • How lube sets and maintains the tone of a session.
    • How insufficient lube deters from a session / Who determines insufficiency.
    • How fisting lube varies from other traditional lubes.
  1. Lubrication Etiquette | Cover the following points of etiquette:
    • BYOL (and Don't Share)
    • Apply Lube Frequently and Generously
    • Clean up Your Bottom
    • Respect Your Partner and Host
  1. Lubrication Application | Teach the following application strategies:
    • Initial Application
    • Reapplication
    • Rehydration
  1. Lubrication Cleanup | Demonstrate how to clean up:
    • The Bottom
    • The Play Area
    • The Hand / Arm
QUICK REFERENCE

Second Session

For your second session cover the following items:

  1. Lubrication Bases | Discuss the pros and cons of the two most common fisting lubes:
    • PEO / Alphabet Lubes (FFäusten, J, K, X)
    • Lipids (Crisco, Elbow Grease, Boy Butter)
  1. Lubrication Distrubution Methods | Review different types of lube containers:
    • Bottles / Bidons
    • Buckets / Bowls
  1. Lubrication Safety | Discuss harm reduction strategies related to lube:
    • Shelf Life
    • Lube Sharing
    • Hygiene (hand washing, cross contamination)
    • Lube provision
  1. Lubrication Purchasing | Provide info about purchasing fisting lubes:
    • Vendors
    • Fair Pricing

It is also helpful to review lubrication etiquette from the first session.

Third Session

In your third or subsequent sessions, cover the last of the basics:

  1. Lubrication Additives | Introduce additives and review pros and cons when used in lubes:
    • Allergic reactions
    • Masking injury
    • Nefarious intentions
  1. Lubrication Preparation | Go over making one's own lube:
    • How to mix PEOs
    • What tools make better outcomes
    • How long does it take to thicken
  1. Lubrication Application | Teach the following application strategies:
    • Funneling
    • Injection Tools

Presentations (Large Group)

Presenting to a large group can be a daunting task. The length of your session and the skill level of your audience will determine the information you will deliver.

These guidelines will help you with a successful presentation:

  • Topic Selection | Too much or too little information on the topic results in poor learning outcomes. Select your topics wisely. Practice multiple times. Prune out unnecessary content.
  • Presentation Techniques | Adults learn best with overviews, repetition, hands-on experiences, and conclusions. Make sure you set three objectives for the presentation and let your students know what those objectives are. In your conclusion, review the objectives to cement your courses content into your audiences memories.
  • Interaction | Try to involve your audience with as much activity as possible. Lectures are boring and live demonstrations can also be boring because they have low participation value. Hands-on experiences usually make the best learning experiences.
  • Hand outs | Depending on the venue, hand outs may be helpful in improving the learning experience. Hand outs can be flyers, samples, or trinkets.
  • Marketing | Make sure your marketing matches your message.
